What makes ATPade different?
Most electrolyte brands sell one formula and a lot of marketing. We build around a specific mechanism — sodium-glucose cotransport — and offer a range matched to what your body is actually doing, from everyday hydration to full performance fuel. The glucose in our blends is there to do a job, not to sweeten.
What is Glucose Intelligence™?
It’s our approach to using glucose deliberately. At a low dose, glucose helps drive water and sodium into your body through cotransport — the same principle behind oral rehydration therapy. At a higher dose, it becomes fuel for sustained effort. Rather than picking one glucose level for everything, we match the amount to the moment. That’s the intelligence part.
Isn’t sugar bad in a hydration drink?
It depends entirely on what you’re doing. Our everyday tiers have little to no glucose (0–2.5g), because that’s all light activity needs. Our performance tiers carry 10–25g because at high output, your body needs carbohydrate as fuel — the same reason endurance athletes eat gels and chews. The glucose is there for a physiological reason at every level, not to make the drink taste sweet. If you want zero, we make that too: H² Honest Hydration.
Why don’t you use stevia or other “zero-carb” sweeteners?
Because sweetness isn’t the job — function is. Stevia, monk fruit, sucralose, and sugar alcohols like erythritol make a drink taste sweet without doing any physiological work. They don’t drive sodium-glucose cotransport, they don’t fuel effort, and some sugar alcohols pull water into the gut and can cause GI distress mid-session — the opposite of what you want when you’re working hard.
Every ingredient in our blends earns its place by doing a job, so a sweetener added purely to fool your palate doesn’t make the cut. When you want a true zero, we get there by removing glucose in H² Honest Hydration — not by masking it with a sweetener.
Which formula do I need?
Think of it as a ladder based on activity and sweat duration:
- H² Honest Hydration — everyday hydration (0g)
- Steady — warm-up, early sweat, light activity (2.5g)
- Thrive Active — moderate training, raised heart rate, 45–60 minutes (10g)
- Performance — heavy sweat, long efforts, 60+ minutes (25g)
Separately, if you know your body needs more of one specific electrolyte, we offer focused blends: Na+, K+, and Mg+.
What’s the difference between Performance Fuel and Performance Sweat?
Both deliver the same 25g of glucose for fueling. The difference is the electrolyte ratio: Performance Sweat runs higher sodium, built for heavy, salty sweat over long efforts. Fuel prioritizes the carbohydrate load; Sweat prioritizes sodium replacement.
What are the Na+, K+, and Mg+ blends for?
These are focus blends — low glucose, chosen by what your body needs rather than how hard you’re working. Na+ suits salty sweaters. K+ supports cramp defense and the work electrolytes do inside your cells. Mg+ is for muscle relaxation and recovery.
What’s actually in it?
A short list: organic kosher tapioca dextrose (glucose), Diamond Crystal® kosher salt, potassium citrate and magnesium malate (Albion®), and organic freeze-dried lime fruit powder for flavor. That’s the idea — every ingredient is doing physiological work.
Why do you use dextrose specifically?
Dextrose is glucose in its purest, most usable form — and glucose is the exact molecule that powers sodium-glucose cotransport. The SGLT1 transporter in your gut grabs each glucose molecule together with sodium and pulls both, plus water, into your body. That’s the mechanism behind oral rehydration therapy, and it runs on glucose. Table sugar and fructose don’t drive it the same way, which makes single-source dextrose the precise tool for the job across our current range.
Looking ahead: for very long efforts like marathons and ultra-endurance events, there’s strong evidence that pairing glucose with fructose lets your body take in and burn more total carbohydrate per hour. The two sugars travel separate transport routes — glucose via SGLT1, fructose via GLUT5 — so combining them raises the ceiling on fueling without overwhelming your gut. We’re developing a dedicated glucose–fructose blend for exactly those extended-activity use cases. For everything today’s range covers, dextrose alone is the cleaner, more deliberate choice.
Is it organic and kosher?
Our tapioca dextrose and lime fruit powder are organic and kosher, and we use Diamond Crystal® kosher salt.
What does it taste like?
Lime — from real, freeze-dried organic kosher lime fruit powder, not artificial flavoring. It’s clean and light rather than sugary, because the sweetness isn’t the point.
When should I drink it?
Match the blend to the effort. H² Honest Hydration works any time you’d reach for water. Steady is good for warm-ups and light activity. Thrive Active fits moderate training. Performance is for long, heavy sessions where you need fuel, not just fluid.
Is this only for athletes?
No. High-performance athletes are our core, but the everyday tiers are built for anyone who wants honest hydration without a wall of additives. The whole point of the range is that not every day is a race day.
